North Valley LLC » Why Solar

Clean. Abundant. Alternative.

Solar energy is a never-ending resource that can be generated anywhere if the place receives sunshine. Solar electric systems offer homeowners a long-term, low-risk investment for homeowners while dramatically reducing their monthly utility bills.

Net Metering

Net metering is the most valuable incentive for solar electric system users. The net metering regulations guarantee that you will save the full value of every kilowatt-hour of electricity your solar energy system produces. According to the California Public Utilities Commission, when a homeowner signs a net metering contract with a utility company, they guarantee to pay you a retail rate for exported solar power for the next 10–15 years.

Environment-friendly

As we all know, solar energy does not emit any greenhouse gases that pollute the air. Solar energy reduces our reliance on fossil fuels and mitigates climate change. But in addition, solar energy has zero contribution towards water pollution and noise pollution. A solar electric system uses very little water for maintenance and does not discharge any waste into bodies of water. Also, solar energy can be efficiently generated in residential areas without noise.

Increase in Property Value

Increase in Property Value

According to studies by Zillow and Berkeley; solar panels increase home values by up to $4,000 per kW. You may brush this off, thinking higher home values mean higher property taxes. We are happy to inform you that this is not how property tax works if solar panels are installed in your home. California’s Active Solar Energy System Exclusion has a tax exclusion clause for rooftop solar systems installed before January 1, 2025. You won’t have to pay more property taxes because your solar energy system won’t be assessed in your property valuation.

California’s 30 % Federal Solar Tax Incentive

American states have attractive solar tax incentives to promote clean energy by encouraging people to opt for solar energy. In particular, the California federal government offers a 30% solar investment tax credit known as the ITC or Residential Clean Energy Credit. This tax credit will remain in force until 2032. Homeowners will receive a tax credit worth 30% of the cost of installing solar energy and battery storage systems.
